2024 was another year that surpassed the previous one in every single category (except for one, which remained fairly steady). The number of families the Help Center assisted increased by 21% over 2023, and the amount of food distributed was 26% over the previous year. Food that was purchased increased by 25%, with that being just about 50/50 between purchases for the Summer Food Program and for everyday groceries. Financial assistance creeped up 6% over 2023, representing 365 families having received emergency utility support. 285 households were first time visitors to the Help Center (a 19% increase), and 27 clients received emergency food/toiletry assistance (two fewer than 2023).
It's important that these numbers are relayed to you because we want you to understand what an impact you make with each donation. Families are able to put meals on the table cooking with food ingredients of their choosing. They have access to necessary toiletries that can't be purchased with SNAP benefits. The electricity, water, and gas are on, and people of all ages are blessed daily by free clothing...all due to your kindness and generosity. We know we say "thank you" a lot; there are only so many ways you can say it. But we hope it never gets old, because it could never be said enough to express how grateful we truly are!

WHAT'S NEEDED WEDNESDAYS
Check here each Wednesday by the end of the day to find out what we're running low on.
Any food, toiletry, cleaning supply, and financial donations are always welcome!
We also appreciate those clean, tear-free plastic grocery sacks (bonus points if they're double-bagged!).
The Most Needed Items list will also be posted on Facebook and Instagram each week.
Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours or
in the Second Harvest barrels at both Mt. Juliet Kroger locations.
If there’s one thing we know, it’s that every donation of any size adds up!
Thank you for giving back to this incredible community we live in!
